As the Product Manager, I led the platform’s end-to-end development—from ideation to launch—ensuring it met the needs of both brands and influencers while delivering a user-friendly and impactful experience.

Scaling Influencer Marketing in a Growing Digital Landscape
By March 2017, POPxo had been manually managing small influencer campaigns for over a year, helping brands connect with influencers to promote their products and services online. While these campaigns successfully supported marketing efforts, the manual processes were time-consuming and difficult to scale. At the same time, India’s emerging influencer culture presented an untapped opportunity to streamline these efforts and expand the business.
As a Product Manager at POPxo, I led the development and launch of Plixxo, India’s first influencer marketing platform. From ideation to launch, I worked closely with cross-functional teams to bring this vision to life.

Building the MVP
After identifying the problem, we followed a structured approach to build Plixxo’s MVP. Starting with thorough market research and user feedback, we brainstormed ideas to address key challenges. We then defined essential features, prioritized functionality, and developed prototypes for testing and iteration. Collaborating with the development team, we transformed these insights into a functional platform that launched successfully, setting the foundation for future growth and innovation.

Overcoming Barriers to Build a Scalable Platform
Influencers were accustomed to informal processes like direct brand collaborations or manual arrangements. Encouraging them to adopt Plixxo as a one-stop platform for campaign management required clear value propositions, seamless onboarding, and ongoing support.
With thousands of influencers onboard, including college students and micro-influencers, streamlining payments was critical. We had to design a robust payment system that handled bulk transactions efficiently while ensuring compliance and accessibility for users with varying financial setups.
Designing a platform that was both easy to use and packed with features for influencers and brands was a challenge. Striking the right balance between simplicity and the functionality required by a growing user base was essential to deliver an engaging user experience.

Cadbury’s #RealDosti Marketing Campaign
Plixxo made a sweet debut with Cadbury’s #RealDosti campaign on Friendship Day in India, and it remains one of the most memorable campaigns I worked on. This campaign celebrated true friendships and leveraged Plixxo’s network of influencers to spread the message through heartwarming stories and relatable content. Collaborating with Cadbury, the campaign achieved impressive results:
- 168 bloggers, 183 college ambassadors, and 100+ Instagram influencers and insiders participated, creating a massive wave of engagement.
- Collectively, the campaign reached over 1,040,578 social media users, showcasing the power of influencer-driven marketing in India.
- Strengthened Cadbury’s brand image through authentic, impactful storytelling on social media platforms.
Other Brands We Collaborated With
After the success of the Cadbury campaign, we demonstrated that our platform could handle large-scale campaigns while helping brands significantly expand their reach. This success opened doors to collaborations with many other industry leaders, allowing us to showcase how Plixxo could drive impactful marketing campaigns and deliver measurable results.
Key Insights & Outcome
By the end of 2019, Plixxo grew by leaps and bounds. As an influencer marketing platform, it made strides with each campaign and enabled influencers from all cities and towns to collaborate with different brands and earn money. We brought Bloggers, YouTubers, Instagram influencers and Twitterati across categories on a single platform using power of social media.

Plixxo was one of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on. Collaborating with different teams and users, each bringing their own unique ideas and perspectives, made the experience so much fun. I learned so much throughout the process, from working across disciplines to solving complex challenges, and it’s a project that continues to inspire me. I am so proud of what we achieved as a team together!
