Lauching an e-commerce platform empowering local artisans.
Nurture India is a grassroots initiative that supports Indian artisans from underrepresented communities.
Without an online presence to access global markets, I designed and developed their e-commerce website. This platform helps them expand their reach, share their stories, and grow their business with a scalable, user-friendly solution.
Project Approach and Execution
I collaborated closely with the founder to design, build, and empower a platform that amplifies artisans' voices and drives sustainable growth.
Understanding the Goal
I worked closely with Somya (Founder) to identify artisans' needs and customer expectations.
Designing the Experience
The website design was clean and simple, with a focus on the artisans' work and stories. I wanted their creativity to be the star.
Building the Platform
I set up the e-commerce site using Shopify, making sure it was easy to navigate, manage orders, and handle payments.
Integrating Data Analytics
I integrated Google Analytics and GTM that provided insights into traffic, popular products, and customer trends.
Mailchimp for Outreach
I configured Mailchimp for personalized outreach to boost engagement and repeat sales and grow the customer base.
Empowering the Team
I trained Somya's team so that they could manage the site, analytics tools, and email campaigns independently.

What I learned
Launching Nurture India's e-commerce platform and seeing how it helped artisans was really rewarding. I enjoyed working closely with the founder, coming up with ways to share the artisans' stories, and figuring out how to balance technical issues with what users needed.

Looking back, I wish I had done more user testing directly with the artisans. That would have made sure the platform was easier for them to use and manage on their own.
